HOUSE OF KINGS

Fellowship

“And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The assignment to testify of the Lord Jesus Christ is a great responsibility. The qualification for testifying or having something to say about him was based on fact that they had been with him. It therefore means in order to give a complete witness you needed to have been with him , on top of that from beginning of his ministry. John (1 John 1:1) adds to this again by saying he testified of that which ‘we have seen and handled’.
On the surface it might look no big deal. Take for instance situations Jesus took Peter, James and John. Imagine the disciples who weren’t involved in the miracle. Could they give a first hand account of what happened? Could they imitate the miracle or apply it when required? The point is these disciples witnessed different things and if miracles added to faith or understanding of the person and ability of Christ, it wouldn’t be the same for all.
Peter raised Dorcus from death and with John raised a crippled man to walk. It means exposure led to implementation. “The crowd laughed at him. But he made them all leave, and he took the girl’s father and mother and his three disciples into the room where the girl was lying. Mark ‭5‬:‭40‬ ‭NLT‬. It’s curious that Peter send people away too in Acts 9:40 as he raised her.

If we are to testify of Jesus, How far is our testimony? What experiences have we ourselves witnessed so as to give a full testimony of the ability and person of Jesus. Let’s be driven to abide in him and allow him to abide in us and see his goodness and tell the world about him.
